One of the features of the Alpha 7C is its tiltable LCD monitor, which allows me to shoot from various angles. I prefer cameras that are equipped with these monitors because they are more useful for vertical photography and the cameras can move up and down more actively. Also, compact, lightweight bodies allow comfortable shooting.

The composition of the photos changes according to the type of lens. When using the Alpha 7C, I use a small lens that fits the camera body. Compact lenses like FE 35mm F1.4 GM that allow various productions are the ones I prefer.

I don’t shoot by setting certain shooting angles. Instead, I try to shoot more intuitively depending on the conditions. In this shoot, I rather impulsively chose a place on the street in Jeonbo-dong, Busan. While casually talking with the couple, I press the shutter button. I think it’s sometimes necessary for a photographer to go with the flow and shoot freely.

As I tend to shoot by myself as a solo photographer, I need a smart camera and a reliable lens. The Alpha 7C helps me a great deal in that aspect with its compact size and full-frame sensor. Its speed and performance has not let me down and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Also, because efficient time management is crucial when capturing natural and candid moments, I prefer using JPG presets, such as Creative Style, in the camera so that I can spend more time in other important areas than just controlling the camera.

I prefer taking photos in manual mode. For mirrorless cameras, you can change various settings by checking the result on the screen since features like exposure, colors are reflected on the screen in real-time. I suggest you set various settings such as the shutter speed, aperture, or ISO speed manually. If you are shooting in an environment where exposure changes significantly, such as in a concert hall or a wedding hall, using the aperture-priority mode can also be helpful. When I use manual mode, I adjust exposure manually.

When I need to take photos quickly and reliably, I switch to AF-C mode, Hi+ for drive mode, and ZONE tracking for AF. As I have faith in the superior AF performance of Sony cameras, I use this combination for most of my shots. Configuring my camera settings before a shoot is crucial, especially when I tend to converse with my subjects a lot when taking their pictures. This will ensure that when I'm not paying close attention to the camera’s focus, its settings are appropriate for the situation and I can always get the results that I am looking for.
